OVERVIEW

Working alongside HTFC Planning & Design, we designed and built a charming play space along Kenora’s Harbourfront. The project was crafted to not only enhance local amenities for residents and visitors but also to celebrate Kenora’s storied past—as both a thriving logging hub and a historic harbor city in northern Ontario.
The final design is a welcoming natural play space where families and friends can gather and enjoy sweeping views of the lake. A subtle maritime theme runs throughout, exemplified by a climbing frame that evocatively resembles a ship’s mast—a nod to the city’s harbor legacy. Complementary play elements, such as a classic seesaw and trim trail equipment, seamlessly integrate with design details that pay homage to the region’s logging roots. This layered thematic approach transforms the play space into an engaging environment that tells the unique story of Kenora’s cultural and industrial heritage.
