Jellicoe Water Gardens is situated on the River Gade in Hemel Hempstead town centre.
Erect Architecture, working in collaboration with project landscape architects HTA, designed a bespoke steel and timber play scape for the gardens. Erect provided conceptual designs, initial construction drawings, and a series of connection details engineered by Entuitive Engineers. From these Duncan & Grove created a 3D model and detailed construction drawings.
The build consisted of a mix of items manufactured in our workshop and then installed on site, and larger structures that were built around a CHS steel subframe on site. Duncan & Grove managed the steel fabrication, installation, and on-site welding; installed the timber elements, the nets and ropes, and liaised with the independent play inspector for the structure to be passed as EN 1176 compliant.
